Totally agree. Some of the comments made I think are bordering on unacceptable.

I don't think anything posted on these boards has been over the top and certainly not offensive. Take a look at some of the bigger clubs forums if you want to be offended. I don't think anyone can be critical of the manager what a great job he has done in four years at the club. However none of us are so blind to see some of the poor performances some of the players have put this season. There is no doubt in my mind that these criticisms led to a better effort by the team last Saturday. Dev's is no doubt rightly protecting his players to boost team morale but as a regular listener to his post match interviews he has also been critical of the team for poor performances.

As much as I admire what Devs has done at the club, this is a bit rich. Devs on radio and Braintree Times after defeats is often moaning about substandard performances.
I do agree that it's best that us fans don't pick on players mercilessly as that isn't helpful to a player out of sorts.

Incredible really a paid person of the club having a pop at the punters who pay his wages.

It was IMO a coup when Devs came to the IRON and what he has achieved for Braintree is nothing short of amazing considering the budget he has to work with. As with all football clubs (except the mega rich Premier league Clubs) there will be ups & downs and all supporters should understand this.
As the manager Devs is the one who has to make the best of what he has to work with, and whatever way he does it is Ok with me. Consider if you were a fan of some of the ex-league teams who have much larger budgets to work with, and are still unable to get back into the football league then you could maybe have an axe to grind and, as rusty points out in his earlier post they do but it doesn't appear to help one little bit!
For the fans who are bemoaning our current run of poor results, now is the time to get behind the players and management and show your true support for what has been a fantastic 4 years in the top flight of non-league football.

Agree with 4whatitsworths comments. Any moronic calls for devs head grates on me as I don't believe there's a single manager in our league or below who could even have matched what he's achieved with us let alone done any better

What's the problem? During the time Devs has been with us he has achieved more than any of us could have hoped for. Let's face it, even after our recent spell of bad results, mainly caused through injury problems, we are still sitting mid table. I say lay off, there are plenty of clubs out there who would snatch him up in a flash. COTI

Have I missed the point, I dont recall reading any posts about Devs out, I mentioned it in one of mine that I heard a few mutterings on the terraces, But like everyone says Devs is a non league miracle worker, considering his budget and mis fortune in the last 2 seasons Injuries and fixTure back log, no wonder Col U were sniffing around him. I believe every paying spectator is allowed to air their views and give their opinions on games they see. If certain players are picked out for performances does it really matter, i'm sure people watch MOTD and look on like me with great interest about Mssers Keown, Neville or Shearer picking out certain players good and bad. Ultimately all everyone wants is for the club to do the best it can in every performance. I always clap team and Devs on and off the pitch to show my respect. Lets band together and move on, Telford Saturday and who knows what will happen . COYI

Just one or two people on FB were calling for his head though granted on here there's generally a bit more sense discussed. Onto Telford n we've yet to score there, though now your like to think we shall change that. COYI!

Haven't seen anyone calling for his head, He's doing the best he can on a small budget, not sure who could do better than he has.
But as far as reality checks are concerned facts are facts, we only failed to score in one of the first ten games of the season Played 10 Won 6 Lost 4 - during which time we scored eighteen goals - Play off form.
However we have since failed to score in twelve of the last seventeen games, that's a pretty sobering thought during which we have Played 17, Won 3 Drawn 4 Lost 10 in all competitions and scored eleven goals - Relegation Form.
Same manager same players, so if some fans voice a little discontent it's hard to argue against.

Trouble is, we have been spoilt over the last 3 seasons with some unbelievable performances, just remember Luton last year and a hectic run in to the end of the season as examples so it's hard to accept when we turn in some poor performances, but face facts we can only have a small budget compared to most of the so called " big boys" dictated by our attendances. It's not as though we are getting trounced as our run of 1-0 defeats prove. I look at our squad and really think Dev has assembled a good team with players that have improved since joining, IMO we just lack a bit of confidence and a change of luck. I for one hope Dev is here for many years to come.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above. The frustrating thing is we know we can do better even as recent as the game at Telford when we tore through their defence. The next game against welling was such a disappointment. Hopefully with a break this week it will give some tired bodies and minds the chance to re-energise for the important Xmas break fixtures.

For me alfreron Nuneaton and Telford will be screwed so I can't help but think our double header against dartford could be a crucial couple of matches for us
