Welling might be struggling but I can't imagine they're about to chuck in the towel. This is a particularly dangerous game for us following hard on the heels of the epic game with the Rovers. The Fixtures for the first three weeks has thrown up an extraordinary run of games (Lincoln a side)which we can consider winnable incl this evening's. The next half dozen games by comparison, look real toughies, three points tonight would set things up nicely. Disappointing and two aspects come to mind.
A side can't expect to go 76 minutes and maintain a 1-0 scoreline. Once we get pegged back we seemed destined to not win.

Well that was again a match of two halves. Great goal from Jordan ( Yes a striker scored !)and a real dominant performance 1st half. we looked a real threat going forward and Welling looked really poor.Injury to Remy did not look good and we had to shuffle the pack inc Mulley at right back ? But then half time and a new Welling appeared they stretched us across the pitch and opened us up. Silly free kick given away for the equailiser and again a silly mistake from Smith for the second a real lack luster 2nd half, even if Steve Smiths thunderbolt in 89th min had gone in and not hit the bar dont think we deserved it. Dan Walker was furious at coming off be interesting to see any developments with him maybe just frustration. And why was Jordan subbed ? injured ? silly sub if not IMO.
Team Ratings Nik 7 - Good save to note Mitch 7 - Did ok when moved to central Alan 7 Best defender tonight. Sam 6 Looked targeted in 2nd half Remy 3 dont think he touched it in 10 mins. Mulley 7- Great tackle in first half but was one of poor bunch in 2 nd half Chez 5- Disappeared at half time Kenny 5 Beaten too easy at times tonight Simeon 8- Our MOTM some slick moves and control Dan 5 - Good effect 1st and awful 2nd. Jordan 7 Well taken goal but sub was strange ?
Subs Steve 5 Beaten for pace a few times tonight Sparkes 4 did not notice him tonight. Michel 4 Little impact when on
We must beat teams like this if we are to push on at 1 nil we kept saying we needed a 2nd to calm down. But the 2nd half credit to Welling they uped their game and beat us fair and square. At least mixed results in league tonight and it could be a wide open year this year still early days, You never know . COYI Oh and thanks for the tastiest burger at a ground i have had Yum Yum.

A game of 2 halfs.... 1st half we looked good with free flowing passing attacking football and looked solid at the back and in control!! Do wish we would have a shot at goal more often... Or at least go hard n low across the face of goal!! 2nd half after the enforced changes we looked disjointed and vulnerable, 2nd to most balls.... But you could never write us off for an equaliser - Smith was unlucky to hit the bar from 25yds...
Nik Hamann - did ok but doesn't command his area as well as he did last season.... Mitch Brundle - played well but got caught out and conceded the free kick which led to their 1st Alan Massey - played his usual game strong at the back and not much gets past him Remy Clerima - didn't do much wrong until injured early doors!! Sam Habergam - did ok but needs to be more positive with the ball!! Dan walker - huffed and puffed had a few good runs down the wing but final delivery needs to be better Kenny Davis - played his usual game 1st half but faded badly 2nd Chez Isaac - covered just about every blade of grass closing down and trying to get hold of the ball! James Mulley - done ok at right back but missed his mazy runs and threat 2nd half!! Jordan Cox - won most headers and flick ons and took his goal superbly, missed his presence as a target 2nd half!! Simeon Akinola - looks very dangerous when got the ball at his feet and defenders are scared of him.... Ran himself into the ground but needs a big man to feed off!!
Steve Smith - whilst comfortable on the ball lacks any pace and was caught out for their 2nd!! Dan Sparkes - needs to get more involved in play, was missing for most of 2nd half Michael Bakare - Gloves in September..... Have a word!! Never threatened looked like a headless chicken!!
Whilst disappointed with the result the way we didn't play 2nd half we got what we deserved and look to build on the 2nd half display v Bristol Rovers and the 1st half v Welling!! Put the 2 together and Kiddeminster on Saturday go home blue in the face!!
