Well done to all. I was on internet again in switzerland. Hard to pick my man of match by radio commentary. Massey for me 2 goals and holding defence together. well done all.

Good result and like Barry I have to go by what Mark Babbage and Glenn Pennyfather had to say. Nothing personal against Glenn, but it does seem odd that BBC Essex have someone who's never been connected to our club summarising our games? I've listened to a dozen other local Beeb commentaries and they generally have a sage connected to the club who can actually talk intimately about them. What got my attention was when Dover brought on Stefan Payne and much was made at how he were once on other clubs books, yet nothing mentioned about him having been here or scoring a hat trick in a match. I say bring back our own Gordon and bring back the passion.
Well done management and players our season is up and running.

Just what the doctor ordered. Would like to have seen a goal come from a recognised striker, but not really complaining about scorers as long as we get the right result.

Good result, but don't know why we didn't press for more goals in the 2nd half as IMO Dover were there for the taking. We fell back and lost control of the midfield which gave them a lot of possession but they were fortunately toothless up front.
Great game by Danny Sparkes and I feel this season he is going to put all his promise into practise. The defence looked solid as ever with Alan Massey again outstanding.
Bring on Chester on Saturday and hopefully another 3 points.

Not a spectacle of a game because lets be honest Dover were a poor team. But A good 3 points 3 goals and a solid win at home. I believe we have the squad this year to challenge and this game should give us confidence. Well done to Mass and Mulls who took the goals well. Have to also mention thought our programme was good quality, well done. Perhaps a plater profile on one of our boys would be good each game for a little personal touch ? Looking forward to Sats game and again 3 -0 would be the perfect score. I can see Mass scoring a few from set pieces this season if Sparkys deliveries match the quality of last night. Why was it so blooming cold though last night and Rain? got to love the english weather. Team Ratings: Nik - 6 Will not have many easier games Ryan 7 First half some good runs not so many 2nd Alan 9 MOTM 2 well taken goals and solid at the back Mitch 8 Can see him with a bright future and only 19 ! Sam 7 Mr Reliable yet again Chez 8 Worked socks off in place of Painey Sparky 8 Super deliveries on set pieces Mulls 7 Wont hit many better for his goal Ken 8 Looked assured on the ball and clever play at times, Should of gone off after his knock though. Dan 8 Impressed with his running always pressurized the defence into rushing their pass away. Sean 6 Three missed opportunities and really needed to bang one in to silence his critics inc me! Did not give up though, Moaned alot.
Subs Jordan-5 Hustled as usual but extra 5/10 mins would of had more chance to shine Michael 5- No real impact Joe - Hard to mark for the 30 secs on the pitch in which he committed a foul! COYI

A good result with two rare goals from Big Al. Devs said after the game on BBC Radio Essex that he has told Massey to delay his run into the box on free kicks and corners so Devs took the credit for the two goals as well! Massey was clearly man of the match and Mitch had a good debut but where was Clerima? I thought he had a good game last Saturday. Dan Walkers contribution was welcomed and his hustling of the Dover defence led to Mulleys well taken goal. I'm not convinced that Sean Marks can knock in 15 to 20 goals this season but as the substitutions were near the end they did not get much of a chance to show they could do better.

He cant and in my opinion needs to sit a few games and others be given the chance he for some reason gets. Another post says he moaned a lot ..he always does this I cant fathom how he continually gets a start at this level.

but where was Clerima? I thought he had a good game last Saturday. A prior work commitment apparently, that's the downside to being part time.

Phil, I will not be doing the home games on BBC Essex this season due to the commitment to the Iron TV highlights commentary. The good news is I will be doing some of the away games this season, first up will be the Alfreton game on the 30th. The rest of the season will be at the whim of Glenn Speller at BBC Essex!!!.

Clerima work is I believe a contract with a major modelling agency which can be very lucrative, he has already done a few major promotions including one for Macey's in the States. I guess being part time with Braintree will be good for him but if he is going to be off on modelling jobs it won't help Devs much.
