Who here thinks me should not use the 4-5-1 formation anymore, especially If we are only going to play Sean marks as I believe this is a level to high for him and can't really see him scoring many goals...

I'd start Tuesdays game with Marks and Walker, if we're struggling up front then replace Sean with Michael Bakare, but not leave it till the 80th minute, more half time I'm thinking. Dan Sparkes by all accounts played a good supplier role on Saturday and if fully match fit should play the whole match.
Paine is going to be bad loss in coming games, but I guess you have to expect to lose a key player(s) during the football season.
My guess is Macclesfield are a side facing an uphill struggle and if we have serious intentions this season should have knocked them off, I get the same feeling with Dover, but as always you still have to win the games to dare dream and why should the opposition stand back and watch you do it?

Can't imagine Dover being an easy proposition especially at our place. The amlin was a happy hunting ground for them in the Connie south days so we'll certainly have to get it right

For me Tues night game would be Nik Ryan Alan Remy Sam MId 4 of Mitch to replace Painey Chez on the right Sparkes on the left Kenny thru the mid in diamond formation Up front Dan W and Bakare
Drop Sean and Mulley for this game and just experiment, I think Dover are a weak side this year and at home we need to take teams like this. What is the point of new players if they just gonna sit on the bench. Sean is professional enough to understand that being dropped for a game is not a bad thing. And Mulley too. I agree this 4-5-1 thing is so easy to counter with sean up top, Lets see 24 hrs to go COYI

I think Dev has done a fantastic job since he arrived but I just think he's getting himself into a bit of "siege mentality" at the moment. 4-5-1 always says to me we'll try and nick a point but I feel that it's games like Macc away where Braintree need to be a bit braver and go for it. Also can only talk up the loss of Wells and Holman for so long need to forget them and move on now.

Looks like a good selection to me. Saturday's game showed up the same problem as last season - an inability to score enough goals, even with a good share of the game. Devs has bought in a number of strikers to address the problem; and surely they should be used. While we are waiting for Strutton to be ready I would like to see Dan W and Bakare given a chance

Agree with ironmansion on the formation for tomorrow evening. The next three home games will determine where we finish in the league this season. You cant lose the talents of Wells and Holman and expect to maintain the same position in this league without suitable replacements.IMHO we are still searching although the addition of Strutton will be welcome when he returns.
So we need at least 8 points from these next 4 games,as I expect Dover, Chester and Nuneaton to be struggling in the bottom quarter of the table this season. Anything less and we will find ourselves looking up at the table rather than down at it. I'mn sure Devs is trying hard to bring in the right quality but we were blessed with a brilliant Centre Half for 3 seasons.

A little perspective needed lads, only one game gone (un-needed/un-justified negativity)....
