IRON RE-SIGN CHARLIE STRUTTON
Charlie looking to continue - that explosive start to his Iron career
Braintree Town have re-signed 25-year old striker Charlie Strutton. Charlie is well known to the Iron fans having scored six goals in just seven goals while on loan from AFC Wimbledon during September and October last season. He started his career at Chalfont St. Peter before joining AFC Wimbledon in March 2012. After his loan spell with Braintree, Charlie had another loan spell at Aldershot Town, but suffered a broken leg in his first match last November. Since then Charlie has been recovering from his injury, but left AFC Wimbledon at the end of last season.

The influence of Dev no doubt has brought him back to the Iron. Great signing.

Welcome back Charlie, sorely missed once the loan period had finished, but what an excellent replacement for Dan Holman. The season will shape up nicely if he can continue his rich vein of scoring he possessed last year with the Iron.

Stellar signing and at last Dev has some real options up front, having the quality of Strutton and Walker in the building will mean Marks and Cox will have to raise their game, real competition for places up front.
Well done the club.

Hooraayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. You know what I would do now.... Stick Sean as centre back, his knowledge of the game would be invaluable , good header of the ball, Quick enough and goals ratio of last season was like a centre backs so I think this could be an interesting move any thoughts ?

Best news of preseason yet, welcome on board Charlie. Love the photo on the main website showing the boys celebrating a Strutz goal last year, Deano in the back ground in his own half getting ready to defend again. Hope we can find anything near as good to replace Jesus.

I think its safe to say Strutton has been and still is a fan favourite. Cannot wait to see our new signings get going. Be interesting to see who replaces our defensive legend but the signings Devs has made, I have complete faith he'll get someone just as good or better. Maybe a new RB as well? Up the Iron!

I was told by Bobbie Richie that Jordan Cox played at centre back also at Great Wakering. He could be the fastest centre back in the league. Just a thought.

Fantastic news - who needs Dan H? And who Southend have yet to commit on, if not careful Dan H may well find the season starts and he's clubless. I can't see Dan establishing in the football league unless his performances become more consistent, though undoubtedly he has the ability.

Just wondering if anybody knows anymore about when we may see the strutz in an iron shirt? Im just curious and obviously he shouldn't be playing again until hes fully fit, just wondering how he is progressing...

There's an interview with Charlie and full news on his comeback in today's Braintree and Witham Times - he sounds very positive.
