I really enjoy and appreciate seeing game highlights on the club website. I do have one small gripe though, why does the commentator say that just about every pass is a "flick"? My definition of a flick would be a slight touch; yet the passes seen and commentated on, rarely are. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments, I take criticism earnestly and thanks for it. When commentating it is easy to run out of superlatives, the thing I will point out is that I commentate for the whole game and so I may not be using the word "flick" all the time, I will try to do better for you. Generally your right about the definition of a flick but it tends to sound better when the passing is fast paced. I do a modest amount of commentating on the radio etc and try to vary my descriptions. But thanks again for your comments.

Thank you ironhorse; you're doing a good job and I'm sure there isn't a cue of wannabe Motson's waiting to take over.

How very true though it seems I don't have many in the fan club on other posts on the forum!! Still its not as easy as some would think and I am still learning after few years behind the mic. Thanks for the good vibes dbbn.

I reckon some on here need to turn the other cheek and this is directed at no one in particular. The slightest remark is taken as an insult. People should look at other club forums and see the foment between views that goes on. Just like squabbling brothers we're really only part of one big happy fraternity it seems I don't have many in the fan club on other posts on the forum!! I'm one of your fans Gordon I agree with most of what you write, but reserve the right to say when I don't and expect you to disagree at times with my very opinionated detritus.

I just watched the Salisbury highlights and I'm caught bang to rights dbbn......too much use of the word flick it was getting on my nerves, I know I made a concious effort last night to use other descriptive phrases and maybe the odd one or two did creep in when justified. Difficult game to commentate on. Apparently my new nickname is "King Edward" as I'm a common tater!! My thanks to Dave Green for that one!!

Well done ironhorse; I think the word of the night for what may constitute passing should be hoof/hoofed!
