Hi All Away Travellers,
The BTFC Supporters Club have started to run a 16-seater mini-bus and have it travelling to Tamworth FC this saturday (2 Nov) - if you haven't organise transport - please see SteveT thread on the First Team Board.
We are committed to running a coach (as booked 16-seater) for Alfreton Town FC (Sat 16 Nov) but will stop orgaising coaches after this trip - this action will stop any confusion and allow BTFC Supporters Club to gain funding / monies on trips.
We will have run 50/50 draws for the next 3 homes matches (Newport Co, Luton Town & AFC Halifax) to ensure we would not have run at a loss (as still needing 2 draws to pay for the Weymouth FC cup away trip coach) but will stop running draws after this.
It has been a fun over the last 3 / 4 years but more recently a struggle and one which I have not enjoyed. I wish BTFC Supporters Club well in their venture.
I will be texting as many people as possible over the next few evenings to confirm this action.
Regards.....RJ

As I understand it and I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong........ This Saturdays minibus trip was only arranged to give the supporters who can't make there own way a chance to go! The minibus is primarily at the club to be used by the academy teams and also the reserve team on their away travels and as the reserves are home this Saturday the minibus is available!! There is still going to be a need for away travel to be arranged but it can't go on making the loss that it currently does!! It's never an easy thing between making the trips affordable to everyone and being too much for someone else! I don't know the answer but your efforts in arranging and doing all the background work for the past few years has been invaluable to getting supporters to away games to cheer on the lads!! WELL DONE RICH!!!

Maybe we need to merge the two organisations back as one, with a dedicated person on the supporters club committee overseeing the arrangement of away travel??? As iimb says if the reserves are away then were back to square one with no away travel other than those going by car. Rich you have done a fantastic job of organising away travel since the supporters club stopped doing coaches. I for one don't want to see the 50/50 disappear as I think it's a great money earner for whoever organises the away travel. Rich I totally understand if you need a break from organising away travel as I feel your frustration when your having to juggle funds when coaches are run at a loss. But we do need someone else to step up to the plate to organise and get as many iron fans to away games the cheapest way possible.

Agreed that Richard has done a brilliant job under difficult circumstances. I hope this is not the end of the independent away support group, otherwise I fear being an away supporter will be almost impossible.

Having subsequently read Steve T on the first team board. The use of the minibus is not meant as competition for the existing arrangements, merely to fill the hole with the Tamworth trip.

02.11.13. Thank you for these contacts. I have calmed down now....misture of surprise / lack of knowledge (of the initial stevet message) and extreme pressure time at work.....I see it (the message) for what it was but would have liked some direct contact before the message - we could have helped filling coach with names that were unable to obtain cars to travel with! As I have taken a breath (and after last nights entertainment with Simon) - I will carry on but only for the remainder of this season. Regards....RJ
