 Winger Alex Rhodes
« Thread Started on Jul 29, 2010, 6:19pm »

I was interested to see that Alex Rhodes is training with AFC Sudbury. A player that I didn't really rate during his short spell with us last year. I think everyone would agree that Reece showed, and still does, alot more potential.

I remember reading in a local paper that he came to Braintree to gain regular football so that he could get back to playing at a higher level.....I'm wondering if he's aware what league Sudbury are in!! ???

At the St.Albans away match last season which I believe was his first appearance for us I couldn,t believe he had previously played at a higher level he was so poor. On the other hand his young lady was Premier league.

I couldn't comment on his mrs 4whatitsworth as I never had the pleasure of meeting her but I'm all for Rod attracting more 'talent' to Cressing Road (as long as their other halfs are DECENT footballers!!)

He was poor for us admittedly, he's been trialling with Chelmsford lately and not been signed up. Good luck to him as he seemed like a decent guy.

Obviously has some ability as he's playeed in the Football League, although lots of players have, he looked in little glimpses like a good player.

To me he is one of those lads that thought he was better than he really was & thought he did not need to put in the effort, unlike Reece.
Agree about the St Albans game but would not have noticed the WAG as I was with the Mrs LOL.

Alex scored a worldy last night for Sudbury with his RIGHT peg! He pretty much ran the show against Bury as Sudbury came out 4-3 winners. I take it all back.....SIGN HIM UP!!!

P.S. James Baker also scored twice and looked pretty sharp!

yes all very well but look at the level they are playing at, if they were good enough to be at connie south they would be in a team in our league, anyone can look good at a lower level if they have a bit more talent, even me old mate Remy would look good especially in his orange boots!!!

He's having a busy pre-season is Rhodes, playing games for both Sudbury and Grays (aswell as a little trial with Chelmsford). Wish he was that committed when he was playing for us.

Yeah I heard he was training with Hereford. Someone said they may sign him up then loan him back to Sudbury!
